After losing two jobs within the course of a little over a year and both in the entertainment ticketing industry.(not uncommon these days but obviously disheartning)
I began to realize that what I had comitted 6 years of my life to was something I really had no passion for, long before I had been let go. What I had always had was a passion for reading and writing, and the cathartic ideas that sprung forth from their practice.
One of the companies I'd worked for for 5 years was a ticket solution software provider, in which I created and maintained concert and sporting events.
During this time I became enamoured with the idea of using their software to create local market specific shopping venues.
The idea was a project that would be set up similar to our existing venues but with the stores each becoming their own events and would facilitate local shopping centers in utilizing an e-ticket platform to offer cross promotions and discounts.
Once I had dusted off my pride and self pity from the career setbacks. I began researching the creation of websites and learning the means by which to draw organic traffic to them.
Being a “psuedo-pragmatist” at heart, and observing an economy seemingly being eaten away from the small mom and pop stores, I began to contemplate.
Was it possible to use my love of writing and novice experience of search engine optimization (SEO) to help very small Dallas based shops gain or even create a better web presence?
If I could go in and encourage enough of the stores within the same geographic vacinity to sign up, find out some information about their business models, provide them with reviews, branding and interview them publicly and promote them through numerous search and display platforms furiously.......
There just might be a waterfall at the end of the stream for all of us. Just a little about me. More to come. Stay tuned!
